This blade has been used for defending spaceships and buildings were movement is limited and the rooms are too small for ranged weapons to have much advantage.
While not an official military weapon, the crew of Imperial support vessels such as LDV Darius and MediSV Eratosthenes have been given several boxes by Castorian themselves as a thank you gift for their service. Recent rumors indicate some of these boxes have disappeared and somehow made it to Calypso, perhaps stolen by crew members to trade for food and other luxuries.
